Tattered heißt die schöne Fotoserie von Seth Butler, in der er die Verwendung der Stars and Stripes, das “universelle, bewegende und komplexe Symbol des amerikanischen Selbstbildes”, im Alltagsbild Amerikas dokumentiert. Die amerikanische Flagge ist ja wirklich allgegenwärtig, und nicht immer geht ihre Darstellung mit dem so genannten Flag Code, den Regeln des Respekts gegenüber der Flagge, konform.
